DeepSeek opens its Search and Fetch APIs

DeepSeek's in-house search engine is now available to developers through two paid APIs.
Alongside the V4.1-Flash-1017 release on 17 October 2026, DeepSeek made its Search and Fetch APIs generally available. DeepSeek's changelog says the same in-house search engine now powers search on its website and in its API.
DeepSeek lists the price as $0.75 per 1,000 calls per endpoint. It says server-side calls made from DeepSeek Harness, Claude Code and Codex are free until billing starts on 31 October 2026 at 16:00 UTC.
The setup guide and terms are in DeepSeek's announcement.
